Dear Colling Family: Kurtis is our son Danny's teacher and coach at Hoosac. Kurt is very dear to us and a wonderful influence in Danny's life. We were all so sad to learn about your sudden loss. Please know that we are carrying you gently in our thoughts at this time. We live in Whitefish on the north shore of Lake Huron while you are near the southern shore of this great lake. We have sent two of our hockey boys to Hoosac and they loved it. We just wish it wasn't so far away... Please take care, The Lepage Family-Rob, Leah, Rory, PJ and Danny

Kim, Kurt & Kara. I am deeply saddened by the news of Dave’s passing. Although many years have passed since I worked for your family, my memories of those times are vivid and cherished. I will always benefit from and appreciate the invaluable lessons I learned from Dave at such a pivotal time in my life. It is rare to find someone with such worthy ideals who possesses the courage, strength, and selflessness to stand up for those ideals; he is truly a mentor to everybody. It is very apparent how loving and caring of a husband and father he was and it is tragic that he has been taken from you far too soon. You have my heartfelt condolences.

Michael Lizotte - 2013-11-04 12:30:10
I was shocked and saddened to hear of David's passing. I am an electrician and knew Dave through his work with stray currents on dairy farms. Dave had a big heart and was always willing to help. We will all miss him. My prayers and condolences go out to Kim and her family.

John & Bonnie Elligsen - 2013-11-04 09:49:44
Kim, Kara & Kurtis We are deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. David and I had done a lot of stray voltage testing and mitigation over the years and I always enjoyed working with David. I remember doing stray voltage assessment and mitigation at your farm back in the early 90's. It always made me feel so good to know that we were able to help solve the problem. David genuinely appreciated what we did. I will miss David very much! We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to you in this time of sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Sincerely, John & Bonnie

Jim Morris - 2013-11-03 22:53:39
I wish to say that I was greatly saddened when I heard of David's passing. He was a man, from knowing David through his work to help many farmers mitigate uncontrolled electricity on the farm, who provided a most important service to those he was serving. He will be greatly missed by the farming community. My prayers and condolences are with Kim and all of David's family during this very difficult time.

Scott MacDonald - 2013-11-03 19:46:54

Dear Jean, Kim and family, although we are away , the girls let me know about David. There are no words to convey my deepest sympathy. Just such a nice man that you could only have been so proud of. We're never sure what today holds in store for us , but special people like Dave make each day count. They leave way too soon tragically and unexpectedly but they leave behind a hope for a better world. They leave their mark that will never be forgotten. May God be with you in the days to come.

Mere works cannot express my profound sadness upon hearing of David's passing. I had the great fortune to meet David during Kurt's time at RPI. He was one of the most honest and genuine people I have ever met and he had a great passion for his family. My only comfort in hearing this news is the fact that in Kurt he has raised an exceptional young man who will carry the family name forward with great honor. My wife Mary and I send all of our thoughts and prayers out to the entire Colling family during this difficult time. We are so grateful that David was a part of our lives if even for a few years.

Martin Weatherall - 2013-11-01 18:12:36

Lee and Darlene Hayden - 2013-10-31 22:00:34
I read somewhere if a man can name five close lifetime friends before he dies, then that man's life has truly been blessed. Dave Colling is on my list. Dave and Kim welcomed us to the 4th of Huron Township in 1988. We could not have asked for better neighbors. Though we have been on Manitoulin for 20 years now and have had somewhat limited contact, we feel deeply for Kim, Kara and Kurtis. The world was a better place with Dave in it. Good bye my friend.

Joe & Debbie Neubert - 2013-10-31 18:25:59
Our hearts were so sad to hear the news. Our prayers are with Kim and the entire family. Dave was such a wonderful person and we so enjoyed getting to know him at RPI hockey games

Words cannot express our deep sorrow at the loss of such a wonderful man. Our heartfelt condolences to Kim, Kara, Kurtis and family. He will be sorely missed in our hearts, our community, and indeed by all those he touched. He was a man of honour and integrity, with a profound sense of compassion. Jean, Kim, Kara,Kurtis, Jane Ann, Paul, Dana, Cole & family~ words can't begin to describe how extremely sad we are with the loss of David. He was such a kind man with a heart bigger than life itself. It is because of his caring ways & abundance of knowledge that I have my health returned to me today. A whole bright future is now ahead of me with Dave & our kids, something we would never have had without him. Words will never ever be able to express our gratitude for the Angel dressed in blue work coveralls that came to our door & did everything in his power to help us. On that day he became our hero & we have thanked him every day since for what he gave back to our family. Please know that the man you call your son, husband, father, brother, & uncle was also a hero to many. A man that was put on this earth for such a short time but was destined to do great things in the days he had here on earth. Our deepest sympathy to all of you~ Randi Dave Hayli Tanner & Brooklyn Charette xo xo
