It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Elizabeth Thuell (née MacTavish) in her 86th year. Best known to her family and friends as Peg. She passed away suddenly in Barrie at the Royal Victoria Hospital on December 1st 2023.Peg is survived by her husband of 64 years, Claire, her son Brent and his wife Lisa, her daughter Patricia and her husband Bill, all of Innisfil, her sister in law Marjorie MacTavish of Kincardine, her sister in law Evylene MacTavish of Ripley and her brother in law Eugene Walden of Alliston. Predeceased by her parents, James and Clara MacTavish, her siblings, Allan MacTavish, Evelyn Walden, Marion Lowry, Jim MacTavish and her brother in law Perrin Lowry.
Peg was born and raised in Huron Township. She was always very active, loved to go for walks where she met and made many new friends. She loved gardening and working in her many flower beds. She will be missed by the Thuell family and all those whose lives she touched.
Last year for Christmas, she had insisted to make the turkey because according to her….. “it might be my last chance to do it”.
A funeral service will be held at MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley on Friday December 8th 2023 at 2 pm with visitation 2 hours prior (from 12pm - 2pm). Final resting place - Ripley Cemetery
