My deepest condolences on your loss. I only recently met Marion in Inverhuron at my dad's where they were playing bridge. Those meetings were impactful in that I took an instant shine to her, her wonderful sense of humour and big hug. She even gave me an unsolicited knitting tip which i use to this day and think of her as I'm knitting and incorporating her tip. I'll always be knitting so I'm glad I'll be thinking of her often. It was an honour, privilege and pleasure to have met her. Sleep well Marion. Peace and sympathy. Patti McKellar

To Marian's Family, Please accept my condolences over your loss. I first met Marian when I was placed at her dining table at RVilla Senior's Residence approximately two years ago. By chance, we discovered that Marian and her husband had owned and operated a general store in Tiverton for a few years that was built and operated for 65 years by my family. With this common ground, our mutual interests spread to past travels, playing bridge, previous experiences, and current affairs. Marian turned out to be an accomplished storyteller. She proved to be an Alpha Dog personality - a leader, reliable, grounded, and supportive person with a sharp wit and a compassionate nature towards others. Her background stories included an eclectic mix of unique experiences and vocations, she remembered and told with candor and humility. Marian was a strong woman, small in stature but big in heart, who treated everyone she met with the decency and dignity that they deserved. She will be greatly missed. Personally, I wish her eternal peace and a seat at the bridge table and a place in the knitting circle that she has likely organized.

Marian was a member of the Ripley VON SMART family for many years. She was a little powerhouse and her sense of humour often livened up the workout. She's miscounting "sit to stands" in heaven now.
