Shirley Dolores Ferguson (Roberts)
passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the Kincardine Hospital with friends and family by her side on Wednesday September 30, 2020. Recently predeceased in April by her beloved husband of 65 years, Robert “Bob” Ferguson. Left to mourn her passing are daughter Kerri (Chris “Patsy” Patacairk) and grandson Zackary “Zack”. Also survived by her brothers Bob and Lee Roberts both of Sarnia and several nephews, nieces and their families. Predeceased by 2 infant sons and 1 sister.
Shirley was born in Sarnia, but as all of her close friends know, her age was always a well kept secret and in her honour it will remain that way! Shirley was a strong and independent woman who lived life to the fullest and was always ahead of her time. As an active member of the Kincardine Knox Presbyterian Church she served there in many different capacities. She was also the welcoming face to students at W.E. Thompson for several years where she made many lifetime friends. The Ferguson front porch was the place to be during the Kincardine Scottish Festival or Saturday night bagpipes. Shirley’s door was always open and was considered a second mother to all of Kerri’s friends. She will be greatly missed by her bridge groups, Knox Church family and all that knew her.
Due to present restrictions, a celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at a later date.

We are so sorry to read about your mum's death. She was one of the very first people we met when we arrived in Kincardine & she did a fantastic job of typing Bob's PhD thesis. She was a lovely person!
My deepest sympathy to Kerri and family. I offer my sympathy to Gwen as well who was there that day. it's not your fault okay. Accidents happen as you said that's what makes them accidents. May God be with family and friends.
I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. I will always remember your mom as the smiling voice in the office. She will be sorely missed.
For 30 great years, Jayne and I had the pleasure to have Bob and Shirley as our next-door neighbours. Shirley and Bob were a very popular couple and there seemed to always be an extra car in their driveway. I'll never erase the memories of Shirley lying outside on her lounger soaking up the sun, while Bob would be tending to his garden or picking up the pine cones to leave in a pail by the road for anyone who wanted them. I always seemed to wake her when I yelled "Hi Shirl", lol. Because of my health, and COVID-19, we haven't seen Shirley and Bob much since they moved. I hope that Shirley wasn't uncomfortable near her end, and now she will be with Bob again, and I can hear Bob saying "Yes Dear".
We will so miss Shirley. Such a great friend to my family over the years. Our deepest sympathy to Kerri,Zach and Chris. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
