With her family by her side Ann (de Vries) Groenveld of Ripley passed away peacefully at Trillium Court, Kincardine on Thursday November 20, 2025 at the age of 93.
Ann will be sadly missed by her children Art (Debbie) Groenveld of Grimsby, Gord Groenveld of Mitchell, Andrew Groenveld of Lucknow, and Anita (Gary) Rutledge of Kincardine. Predeceased by her husband and partner in life Andries "Andy" Groenveld (2023) and her son Stewart Groenveld (2014).
11 grandchildren,16 great grandchildren and one in the oven.
Ann married her sweetheart Andy on February 23, 1955. On March 11, 1955 they departed from Rotterdam, Holland and came to Canada, arriving with only $10 and a couple of suitcases. They worked hard on various farms until they could rent, and eventually buy a farm, first in Brussels and then in Kincardine Ont. One of their biggest farming highlights was on a Sunday afternoon when one of the cows had triplets, which was very rare. After a few moves within the area they made their home at Rosewood Rvilla Retirement Living, Ripley.
Andy and Ann enjoyed 17 winters in Florida with friends where they enjoyed lots of euchre and shuffleboard.
A Funeral service will be held at MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley, on Monday November 24, 2025 at 2pm with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment Ripley Cemetery.
