Wendy Darlene Hall née Smith of Lucknow and formerly of Kincardine, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Wingham & District Hospital on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the age of 75.  Born in Kincardine on September 22, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Norine Bradley and Fred Smith.  Wendy grew up in Tiverton and later attended high school in Kincardine and Walkerton, where her lifelong love of baseball began. She played on many local teams—often in her bare feet—bringing a true spitfire spirit to every game. That same passion fuelled her devotion to the Toronto Blue Jays, where “Do Not Disturb” became the rule on game days.  For more than 30 years, Wendy worked for Canada Post, where she was known for her strong work ethic and for always going the extra mile for her customers. Sharp with numbers and devoted to her puzzles, she possessed a mind that was both quick and steady.  Family was everything to Wendy. She shared a special bond with her siblings and treasured the time spent with them. Many fond memories were made around the card table playing Canasta with her sister Gladys, where laughter, friendly competition, and the comfort of being with family were constants.  Wendy also loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing brought her great joy and provided some of her happiest moments throughout her life.  She was endlessly proud of her girls—Wanda, Angie, Kerry-Lynn, and Laurie. They were her heart, her pride, and her greatest accomplishment. When her grandchildren came along, she became their biggest fan. No matter the distance or the weather, she was there—cheering loudly, loving fiercely, and showing up in the way only she could.

Wendy will be greatly missed by her daughters, Wanda Hall (Trevor Mazereeuw), Angela (Mike) Wilken, Kerry-Lynn Hall (Sam Snobelen), and Laurie (Steven) Bowers; her grandchildren, Holly, Kyle, Jesse (Kim), Wyatt (Jessie), Addison, Luke (Maggie), Travis, Ryan, and Daysha; and her great-grandchildren, Jude and Parker. She is also survived by her sister, June Lowry.  Predeceased by her siblings, Helen “Anne” Bradley, Kenneth (Joyce) Bradley, Georgina Bradley, Marlene (Jim) Swass, Richard “Bud” Smith, Fred Smith, Margaret Clemett, Lloyd Smith, and Gladys McCallum, and by her partner, Berton Collins in 1998.

Wendy was loyal, fiery, funny, and deeply caring—a true force to be reckoned with. Her spirit lives on in every ball game, every solved puzzle, every mailbox she once visited, every card game around the table, and every cherished memory she leaves behind.  The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Janette Everson for the care and friendship she provided to Wendy over the past several months. They are also forever grateful to Dr. Henderson and the nursing staff of Wingham & District Hospital for the compassion, kindness, and exceptional care shown to both Wendy and her family. Your support brought great comfort during a very difficult time.

A Come and Go Celebration of Wendy’s Life will be held at the Kincardine Legion on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to wear their favourite Blue Jays apparel in honour of Wendy.  (As a sign of respect, please note that hats are not permited inside the Legion).  Private interment will take place at Kincardine Cemetery.
